FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q.  How many dishes can I enter into the challenge?

 

A.   One dish entry per person.

 

Q.  How old do I need to be to enter?

 

A.   There are no age restrictions for the challenge. We have different prize categories for children (up to 12), young adults (13-17), and adults(18+).

Q.  Do I have to prepare my entire dish at the event?

 

A.   It's up to you. You can do either.  We have basic kitchen facilities set up with limited equipment available on the day.  If you require more specialised equipment then you will need to bring this along with you on the day. 

 

Q.  What equipment is available at the contestant stations on the day?

 

A.   There are four contestant stations at the event with limited cooking facilities and utensils.  To assist you with the preparation of your dish we have the following : 

  • BBQs

  • Gas burners

  • Chopping boards

  • Knives

  • Bowls

  • Spoons

  • Pots

  • Frying Pan

  • Basic Utensils 

  • Salt & Pepper

  • Oil

 

Top Tip

Think about how you will present your dish, Get creative .  At previous events entrants have used, driftwood, wood, leaves and items that add to and compliments the story behind why you have chosen to present your dish .  Or simply bring a platter, plate or serving dish from your kitchen cupboard!
